Augusta is a town located in the south-west corner of Western Australia, where the Blackwood River emerges into Flinders Bay. Augusta is the nearest town to Cape Leeuwin on the furthest south-west corner of the state.
The Augusta region is one of the most attractive holiday areas in the country, with a spectacular coastline which includes the most south-westerly point in Australia.
The region contains many scenic contrasts, in which the indented coastline blends with spectacular views and the Blackwood River and Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park combine with the coast to provide a landscape that offers much to the visitor.
Activity holidays play a large role within the region, Long distance walking is very popular, with designated trails from cape to cape. With such a long coastline sea and shore, fishing is widely available as is excellent game angling, plus good river fishing is to be found on the beautiful Blackwood River.
